UIL Solo and Ensemble contest was held at Lee High School in Baytown this year. Scheduled for February 6, the Chorale entered two Medium Ensembles; Treble and Tenor-Bass as well as several small ensembles (trios, quartets and madrigals, and solos). They returned with 1st divisions medals for everyone in both Medium Ensembles, one small ensemble and one solo for a total of 50 medals. The solo and small ensemble are eligible to participate in the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest at the University of Texas at Austin in May. Good Luck!

The LJH Performing Choir participated in UIL Solo and Ensemble at Vidor Jr. High School on January 29th. The 35 young people who attended participated in 3 Medium ensembles and 3 Small ensembles. First Division ratings were awarded for a total of 91 medals.

These young people began working toward this competition in January after returning from Christmas break. They have made tremendous progress as they begin to prepare for UIL Concert and Sight Reading contest in April.
