Once again, the GT Talent Show was a big success! This year the talent show was held Monday, December 8th at the LHS auditorium. Everyone did a fabulous job! LHS seniors Macye Taylor and Nathan Blakley served as emcees for the show, both have been performing in the talent show since they were in elementary school. The LISD-GT program began doing the annual talent show 10 years ago as a way to get all of the grade levels together for one evening to celebrate the talents the students possess outside of the classroom. It is such a thrill to see how multi-talented the students are! Upon entering the high school Monday night, attendees were able to browse through exhibits showcasing talents that couldn’t be shown on stage, such as photography, original artwork, and motorcycle riding. Then the audience was entertained with tap dancing, drum solos, piano playing, magic tricks, vocalists, and much, much more!
Even students that do not perform look forward to attending each year to cheer on their classmates. “It is a great way to bond and build a sense of community in our GT program” says elementary coordinator, Paula Franklin. A big thank you goes out to LHS seniors Cody Kirkpatrick and Kevin Veal for their sound and light work. They made everyone look and sound very professional. Also, thank you to all of the students and their parents for working hard to prepare for this year’s show. It wouldn’t have been possible without you.
