On Monday, November 12th, students from LISD’s GT program showcased their abilities in their annual talent show. Ethan Tiner kicked off the night with a rousing drum performance to “Soulja Boy”, followed by a group of very talented tap dancers that got everyone in the mood for Christmas with their routine to “Sleigh Ride”. The night progressed with piano solos, vocal performances, dance numbers, as well as a few other “fun” performances, and was then finished with a drum ensemble performance led by Jim Ziegler and several other high school students.
The talent show is a special time each year when LISD’s GT students get the opportunity to showcase their performing abilities, as well as an opportunity to work with other GT students on a variety of acts and with a variety of ages. It’s wonderful to see them encouraging and cheering each other on – it’s a great “bonding” opportunity for all of the students in the program.
Money raised by the show will go to benefit GT students in enrichment opportunities this summer.
