Being a member of the Spanish Honor Society is a privilege given only to those students who have shown their dedication to the Spanish language through academic excellence and pursuit of extra opportunities to use the language. This honor society offers an advanced level of activities and companionship to those who enjoy the language and culture.
* Official recognition items include: keys, pins, mugs, tassels and cords in red and gold.
* Belonging to a National Academic Society to recognize your work in Spanish classes.
* Being eligible for a college scholarship to a college of your choice.
* Wearing a sweat shirt, a T-shirt or a patch identifying you as an honor society member.
* Receiving a handsome certificate announcing your initiation into membership of the SOCIEDAD HONORARIA HISPÁNICA.
* Seeing your best written or artistic work published in a national student journal.
* Receiving awards, certificates, medals and much applause for your work in Spanish.
* Running for office of the chapter of SHH at Livingston High school.
* Sharing the privileges of membership with students belonging to over 1000 chapters nationwide and including Alaska, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Teipel and Hong Kong.
* Giving greater prestige to your Spanish classes and Spanish Departments.
* Belonging to a "special" Spanish Academic group.
* Being able to work as a cohesive team.

Each year members elect a President, Vice-president, Treasurer, and Secretary who direct and help carry out the monthly meetings and various activities in cooperation with the society members and advisor. |
