For the first time, Spanish Honor Society had a float in the Christmas parade. The nativity scene plays a big role in the Hispanic Christmas. Each Spanish-Speaking country has its own tradition but the main celebration is the same, the birth of Jesus. We incorporated the flags of the Spanish-Speaking countries to represent the Hispanic world. We worked hard but we had a lot of fun. We want everyone to know “the Hispanic spirit is in the community”. Our special thanks to Red Barn for letting us use their trailer and for supplying the materials to build the float.

We had 160 people. El Taquito catered the food for the banquet. We had beef and chicken fajitas! We have several activities planned. We recognized our sponsors (Red Barn and El Taquito), we inducted 28 students to the Spanish Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society seniors received their honor cords for graduation, we introduced the Spanish Club and presented its members, and certificates of dedication were given to students for their outstanding participation in the Club.
